As Principal and Founder of Clearpoint, Eric has helped clients creatively resolve difficult issues in retention and compensation of executive talent as well as increase net after-tax returns on investments. With over 20 years of experience in financial consulting, Eric helps clients to evaluate and identify the best strategies for achieving these objectives through insurance, investment and benefit solutions. He also works with a network of strategic partners who integrate compensation and benefits resources in one streamlined process as needed.

For examples on ways Eric can assist clients, Eric can structure long-term incentive and supplemental retirement plans for VIP, non-equity executives who were key members of the team, and whom the owners want to retain. The solution can involve creating bonus and performance measures that the company funds and administers.

Another possibility is helping a manufacturer maximize how much compensation its executives can defer under the company’s non-qualified 401(k) plan, allowing the employer to eliminate potential concerns over the security and limits of the plan’s status.

For a high net worth individual, Eric can create net returns on an after-tax investments through an institutionally priced insurance contract. This is done by analyzing the tax cost of changing investment positions, and placing a percentage of liquid assets into investment instruments, allowing the client to change allocations, take distributions at will and reduce taxes owed on gains.

Eric regularly publishes proprietary “News Briefs” to educate clients on the complex, sophisticated regulatory changes impacting their employee benefits and compensation.

Eric has a B.A. in Economics and a B.S. in Psychology from the University of Pittsburgh. He is a member of the Association for Advanced Life Underwriters, the International Forum and the Association for Corporate Growth. Eric serves on the board of the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF), Pittsburgh Chapter.
